GROW – SEPTEMBER 26-28, 2013
Every year thousands of children, teens, and young adults take advantage of TSA community centers, summer camps, after school programs, and more. Each of these contacts with the young people of our communities is an opportunity to invest intentionally in their development, and to make an impact on the future of our cities. Grow is an event specifically catered to Salvation Army employees who work with youth in roles not traditionally considered “ministry.”
What is the real mission of camp and how does it support the mission of The Salvation Army? What are the best practices for hiring and training annual or rotating staff? How can we incorporate a youth development driven mindset into our programming, leadership, and communication? These are just broad examples of the topics that will be covered.
Led by Michael Brandwein, with over two decades of experience and a list of awards and accolades too long to list, along with the Territorial Youth Department Staff, attendees will dig into the key components that make up successful, vision driven youth development. More details, and a registration database, will be released soon. For now, please contact the Youth Department with any questions and mark your calendars!
